School Board Business Advisory Board

Purpose

The School Board Business Advisory Board reviews and reports on the capital outlay budget, particularly as it relates to the expenditures of school impact fee and local sales tax. The Board also reviews and reports on issues and practices related to the fields of expertise represented on the Board, such as site selection, construction, investments, purchasing, as requested by the superintendent or school board. In addition, the Board reviews and makes recommendations regarding the annual review of the school impact fee ordinance and study.

Appointments and Qualifications

The Board shall consist of seven (7) members who shall be a resident of Osceola County, a registered voter, with proof of expertise or licensure in the field represented. The members may not be currently employed or under contract to provide services to the Osceola County Public School District, must demonstrate skills to assist in the evaluation of capital expenditures, as well as familiarity with voluntary services to the School District.

Membership categories are broken down into fourteen areas:

  • Accountant
  • Appraiser
  • Architect
  • Builder
  • Construction
  • Trade Business
  • Developer
  • Engineer
  • General Contractor
  • Landscaping Specialist
  • Lawyer
  • Planner
  • Realtor
  • Surveyor
  • or other field possessing such skills as would assist in the evaluation of capital expenditure

Term Limits

There are no term limits.

Meeting Frequency, Time and Location

Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Osceola County School District's Administration Building in the Bill Collins Conference Room 817 Bill Beck Boulevard, Kissimmee, FL 34744.

Citizens are welcome to apply at any time, however applications are only considered when there is a vacancy.
