EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin Visits NeoCity, Highlighting Its Growing National Role in America’s Microelectronics Future

Osceola County, Florida – Signifying the expanding reach and national importance of NeoCity--and underscoring Osceola County’s role as first to what’s next--U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin toured the County’s 500-acre technology campus on Friday.

As a member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet, Administrator Zeldin’s visit represents a significant moment for NeoCity and its mission to strengthen and re-shore America’s microelectronics research, development, and manufacturing capabilities. Over the past several years, NeoCity has received more than half a billion dollars in federal, state, and local investment, complemented by major support from industry partners.

“I feel like you could bring almost the entire Cabinet here and we would all see different aspects of this operations that face us in our decisions every day,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.  “As a member of the National Energy Dominance Council, I often meet with the President, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Interior, and Secretary of Commerce, and we are often having discussions that directly involve present and likely future of what we see here at NeoCity.  When we’re talking about the strategic future for our country and the race for AI with China, as we talk batteries, chips, semiconductors, magnets.  When we’re talking not just the extraction of rare earth material but the development of the entire process through finished projects and products, it is in many respects, yes, part of what is present and likely future here at NeoCity.”

During the visit, Administrator Zeldin received an in-depth overview of NeoCity’s development, its strategic vision, and the strong collaborations fueling its rapid growth. The tour highlighted key partners including SkyWater Technology, imec, BRIDG, and the National Science Foundation’s Florida Semiconductor Engine -- each playing a critical role in advancing domestic semiconductor innovation.

The delegation also visited NeoCity Academy, Osceola County’s STEM-focused high school located on the campus. Within its first decade, the school is ranked the second top high school in Florida and 34th in the nation, underscoring NeoCity’s commitment to developing the talent pipeline needed for America’s next generation of advanced manufacturing careers.

Osceola County officials emphasized the significance of the visit and the county’s long-term commitment to building a resilient, future-forward technology economy.

“We are proud that Osceola County is playing a critical role in strengthening America’s microelectronics supply chain.  Administrator Zeldin’s visit highlights the importance of this mission and the impact it will have on the nation’s security and competitiveness, while reinforcing the national significance of what the Osceola Board of County Commissioners is building here,” said County Manager Don Fisher.  “NeoCity is proof that strategic investment and strong partnerships can transform a region. We appreciate the Administrator’s recognition of the work underway and the role NeoCity plays in shaping and reshoring America’s microelectronics ecosystem.”

In the coming months, NeoCity will break ground on its newest expansion—a 30,000-square-foot lab designed to meet rising demand and attract additional partners committed to creating high-tech, high-wage jobs here in Osceola. This facility will support companies looking to grow locally while helping to upskill our workforce and strengthen the Nation’s leadership in semiconductor technology and advanced manufacturing.
