Overnight Closure Planned for Northbound S.R. 535 Near Osceola Parkway
From 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the northbound lanes of State Road (S.R.) 535 (South Apopka-Vineland Road) near the intersection of Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, for overhead signage installation. 

Northbound S.R. 535 will be closed between the eastbound West Osceola Parkway on ramp and North Poinciana Boulevard. Motorists who wish to continue on S.R. 535 will be detoured onto West Osceola Parkway, make a U-turn at Sunrise City Drive, travel west on West Osceola Parkway to the S.R. 535 off ramp onto North Poinciana Boulevard, and then proceed south on North Poinciana Boulevard to access northbound S.R. 535. FDOT began construction along S.R. 535 from U.S. 192 in Kissimmee to International Drive in Orlando last fall. In addition to installing new signage, improvements include resurfacing the roadway, upgrading curb ramps and crosswalks, adding new pavement markings, enhancing signals at key intersections, and modifying access at North Poinciana Boulevard to allow only right turns.
