Boggy Creek Rd Widening Public Meeting

Osceola County is holding a virtual and in-person public meeting on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 6 p.m. regarding the Boggy Creek Road Widening Project. The purpose of the project is to address capacity and enhance safety along the corridor. Osceola County is designing the preferred alternative that was selected by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners earlier this year, which will provide two 11-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction separated by a raised median. Traffic signal modifications, drainage improvements, and construction of an 8-to-10-foot-wide multi-use path with a 4-to-7-foot-wide buffer on the south side of the roadway are included. The design also includes a 6-foot-wide sidewalk with a 4-to-7-foot-wide buffer on the north side of the roadway. The public meeting is an opportunity for the community to learn about the design, ask questions and provide input. The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2023.

Meeting Options

The County is offering multiple ways for the community to participate in the meeting. All participants, regardless of the platform they choose, will receive identical information and all comments will be evaluated equally.

  • In-Person Option: Interested persons may attend an open house at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center, St. Cloud Rooms A & B, 1901 Chief Osceola Trail, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Attendees will have an opportunity to come anytime between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members and provide comments. In light of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, steps are required to protect the health of the public while still ensuring continuity of County business. Virtual access to the public meeting is also being provided.
  • Virtual Option: The second option is to participate in a Virtual Public Meeting (VPM) from a computer, tablet or mobile device. The VPM will begin at 6 p.m. and will include the same presentation offered at the in-person location. Attendees in the virtual meeting will have an opportunity to download project displays and provide comments or ask questions. Advance registration is needed for this option by going to: https://bit.ly/3lzvZYZ. Please note that GoToWebinar does not support Internet Explorer. You will need to use Google Chrome (download for free at https://bit.ly/3lXEp9w) or Microsoft Edge (download for free at https://bit.ly/36STDbr) to register and participate in the virtual meeting.
  • Phone Option (Listen Only): Persons may also call into the meeting by dialing 1-562-247-8422 and entering the passcode 820-391-828 when prompted. Persons choosing this option are encouraged to provide comment or ask questions after the meeting by contacting Osceola County Project Manager Daniel Kelly.

All materials will also be available on the project’s website at www.osceola.org/go/boggycreek a few days before the meeting.
