Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)

TBRA Application Update: The TBRA Pre-Application window is officially closed as of Sunday, September 2026 11:59 p.m. If your pre-application was selected via the lottery, you can expect an email and/or letter with next steps within 10 business days following the application closing date. If no email is received or a letter by mail, your pre-application was not selected. Program Benefits

This program offers rental help for up to 24 months to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

  • Rental subsidies up to 24 months
  • Tenant preference units
  • Inspected units, quality housing
  • Case management services provided

Requirements

  • Household income must be 60% or below the Area Median Income
  • Must be a resident of Osceola County for the past 6-months
  • Preference will be given to the elderly
  • Must meet the HUD’s definition of homelessness, or at-risk of homelessness (find definition in the Policies & Procedures document below)
