FORECLOSURE PREVENTION AND RENTAL ASSISTANCE:

Beginning on Monday, April 6, qualified homeowners and renters who have lost their jobs or had an impact to their income due to COVID-19 may apply for foreclosure prevention or rental assistance, respectively, to assist for up to two months.

We will accept applications for “Emergency COVID19 Housing Assistance” at Housing.Osceola.org.  In order to determine if applicants qualify, they will need to provide proof of job loss, current lease, social security card, birth certificate and some other documentation that will be listed on the website. Applicants will be addressed on a first-come, first-ready basis.

FORECLOSURE/EVICTION RELIEF:

Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order #20-94 on April 2, preventing foreclosure and eviction actions for non-payment for 45 days. Please note, this Order does NOT forgive or waive payments due during this time. All monies owed for mortgage or rent payments are still owed according to contracts.

‘STAY AT HOME’ LOCAL ORDERS AND STATE ORDERS

Governor DeSantis issued Executive Orders #20-91 and #20-92 on April 1, reflecting a statewide “Safer at Home” declaration. Under these Orders, residents are asked to limit movement within the state, asking residents to only leave the home to obtain or provide essentials services or conduct essential activities.

Osceola County’s current Emergency Orders are still in effect. Order #1 established a curfew for residents from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Order #3 is the current “Stay at Home” mandate which orders residents to stay at home as much as possible, orders non-essential businesses to close but allows residents to continue to do essential tasks.
