February 5, 2024 – In honor of Black History Month, Osceola County is highlighting the work of the late Bishop Gary Gray, his family, and his successors in helping the people of the Marydia Community and working with the County Commission to establish the Marydia Community Center.

Dr. R. LeWayne Johnson, a retired military officer, Bronze Star recipient, and combat veteran, who is dedicated to ensuring that veterans have access to assistance, was recognized as the Lt. Lloyd Burton, Jr. Service Award winner by Osceola County Commissioners on Monday.
